The resonator guitar is a favorite of Hawaiian, Blues, Country, and Bluegrass players. In contemplating a design that would appeal to players in the vast geographical stretch from Hawaii to the Mississippi Delta to Nashville to the mountains of Appalachia, I asked myself "what common element would tie the diverse musical genres and geographies together?" Much of Luna's inspiration is drawn from nature, and I discovered that different species of the lovely Magnolia tree are found in all of these areas...... thus a Magnolia blossom became the inspiration for for Luna's Steel Magnolia. It is especially sweet that the neck is FSC certified Mahogany.
