Electronic Drums & Digital Percussion

Electronic drums are setup and played like acoustic drum kits, but the drum heads are virtually silent. When a drummer plays an electric drum kit, the drum pad triggers an electronic drum sound e.g. snare drum, bass drum or cymbal. The drum sounds are fed into headphones, or an amplifier and speakers and the drum volume is easily controlled.

Beginner or starter electronic drum kits have a good selection of drum sounds and allow young or first time drummers the cheapest way to start playing electric drums. For better drum pad response and dynamics and more realistic drum feel and sounds, then intermediate and professional electronic drum kits offer exceptionally good drum sounds and playing dynamics with almost the same feel and response as acoustic drum kits.
